March Meeting - Practical Activity

Those of you that attended the Regional Day last year may recall Cas Holmes talking about          Tea-Flora-Tales and on Monday we are  joining in with this interesting project.

The project makes use of the Tea Bag Papers that we often pick up in hotels etc. so if you have any or come across some please do bring along in March as well as your sewing kit and any small pieces of floral fabric,lace, buttons, ribbons or motifs keeping to a floral theme for decorating your piece. Remember the finished work will only be the size of a small postcard.

If you don't have any don't worry there will be lots to share on the night.

You don't need the tea bag only the wrappers

As with all meetings there will be Show and Share don’t forget Stitch of the Quarter is chain stitch.  Also there is a chance to borrow (for a very small fee) from the DVD and Stamp library.

We have had a vary generous donation for the sales table from  Shelia Yates, through her daughter Lorinda so you are sure to something irresistible.

There is also the chance to sign up for upcoming Day Schools with Margaret if you fancy attending a day:  June 24^th is Textile Art with Mikala Gyetvai. 

Hopefully everyone who had signed up will have already been told that Nicola Jarvis has let us down so the March work shop is cancelled. Our apologies, to make up for this we have a booking instead at Cotteridge on 27^th May when Anne Haigh will lead a Canvas Work Day this will be at a reduced cost of around £15 as Anne is being very generous with her time. Requirements list will be at the March meeting.

25^th November is a workshop with Richard Box who was so entertaining and interesting at the last meeting.

This is our second swap of Travelling Books let Meriel know if there are any problems.

This months Raffle is yellow so if you can please do bring a small contribution for the bag and don't forget to see Janette for your tickets.
