SILVER THREAD TAPESTRIES

Last weekend I was invited to the launch of the Walsall Silver Thread Tapestries.
The work which was undertaken by over 200 people, is a series of stitched panels celebrating Walsall and its surrounding area.
Many of those undertaking the work had not stitched before, but you would not guess that from the standard of the finished work.
NB. The total work, consisting of a number of panels, is (very) approximately  15 feet wide by 5 feet high
I found it inspirational, absorbing and educational and thought our members might be interested in viewing it.
As you will see  after a tour of the towns featured on the “tapestries”,  it will be on display both at Birmingham Central Library and then the NEC
More information can be found on www.creativefactory.org.uk
Thank and regards
Gill
