There is a a new event this weekend (16th & 17th July) at the Stirchley Baths - Yarningham, organised by Birmingham's Stitches and Ho's knitting group. It's a 2 day festival with lots of dyers and independent producers, as well as a workshop programme, which may be of interest to Birmingham Embroiderers' Guild members and friends.
Stirchley Baths is a short walk from Bournville train station, and day tickets are £5 plus booking fee in advance, or £7 on the door.
On Monday we look forward to hearing from Marion Plumb, one of our members and we all know we can look forward to an interesting and entertaining talk with the intriguing title 'The hidden world of the Geisha'
Remember the summer competition 'Colour Carnival', everyone will have chance to vote and the cup is polished ready to hand on.
The raffle is pink and the bags made my members are sure to be masterpieces so don't forget to bring a small contribution along and to buy tickets on the night.
If you're new to the Guild, visitors are welcome, and the first session is free, with a charge of £4 thereafter. Please see here for details of where we meet. See you there!
It's library time again and we are in our normal spot on the Mezzanine floor above the library cafe from 11 am until about 2 pm (don't forget the library does not open until 11 am although the cafe is open downstairs from 9am). Everyone is welcome to join us to bring any stitching projects you are working on whether you need a bit of help or encouragement or just want to join in the social event and carry on with your project. We will have felt, binca and other activities for both adults and children.
